Mumbai, Dec 15: Mayuravarma Samskritika Prathistana held a seminar at Kannada Welfare Society Ghatkopar titled ‘Ogatugalu hagoo Janapada Vaividhya’ (puzzles and Janapada diversity’ on December 10. Narayana Shetty Nandalike who presided over the programme expressed his opinion about them.
Resource person Dr Prabhu Angadi said that puzzles are important among several forms of Janapada as those challenge each other. “Those change from time to time,” he said.
Resource person Lata Santhosh Muddumane expressed diversity in Janapada. Resource person Saroja Amati expressed her opinions recollecting her childhood and her attachment to elders and explained various forms of Janapada in Uttara Kannada district. Resource person Indira Kulkarni said that Janapada that has come to us from our grandfathers and grandmothers gauges our intelligence. “Our elders have left behind the asset of their experience to us. It becomes lively as we use it. It has mathematics, history, science and the beauty of nature. We should preserve it,” she said.
Kannada welfare society president Navin Shetty Innabalike said that the society always helps pro people work and said that the activity held by Mayuravarma Prathistana is commendable.
Dr Sathish Bangera was on the dais. Former president of the Prathistana, V R Bhat, presented mementos to the resource persons and honored them. Prathistana executive committee members Raj Varma Jain and Nithya Mundkoor cooperated. Earlier, a minute’s silence was observed in memory of well-wisher of the Prathistana Shekar Ajekar who passed away recently.
Malati Putran and her companions, Kannada Welfare Society ladies wing members and Srikant Amati sang poetic songs. The programme started after prayers and lighting the lamp by Veena Shetty. Savita S Shetty welcomed the guests. Vishwanath Dodmane, founder and honorary chief secretary of the Prathistana explained the activities of the Prathistana, the puzzles and Janapada diversity activities. Lakshmi Heroor compered the programme.
