Kundapur, Dec 16: The state level Kambala tournament here is scheduled to be held at Kyartur Kambala fields, near Ganganadu, Byndoor on January 7, 2024. The Mahurat for the event to be held under flood lights took place on Friday.
Deepak Kumar Shetty, president of Byndoor Raitha Sangha speaking after performing the Mahurat said that Sri Mahalingeshwara and Sri Narasimha religious temples are situated at Vanaroddu, Kyartur here and agriculture is the livelihood of the people. “The annual state level Kambala tournament is being organized at Byndoor for the first time to unite the farmers in the villages. More than ten thousand farmers will arrive from across the state for the event. The tournament is being organized in the most modern manner and gold medals will be presented to the winners. The grand Kambala festival will be held with the cooperation of the Kambala committee, elders and various communities. The runners of the winners, senior farmers and promoters of the Kambala will be felicitated,” he said.
Local priest Vasudev performed Muhurat puja rituals. Manju Poojary Sasihitlu, Ganapa Marati, Raju Marati Belakodlu, Raju Devappa Nade, Devappa Hande, Shivayya Ganganadu, Harish Marati Ganganadu and local villagers were present.
