Bangalore: Reading from ‘Sirigannada’ to be Held on Sep 9

Bangalore, Sep 9:  Toto Funds the Arts and British Council will organize a reading from ‘Sirigannada’, an anthology of contemporary Kannada writings edited by Vivek Shanbhag  to be held at the British Library, Prestige Takt, 23, Kasturba Road Cross here on Friday September 9 at 6.45 pm.

Vivek Shanbhag will be in conversation with Prakash Belawadi. Excerpts from the anthology will be read by Mounesh Badiger, Shiva Pathak and Deepika Arwind.

Vivek Shanbhag is an acclaimed short story writer, novelist and playwright. Winner of several prestigious awards, he is the author of four short story collections, two novels and two plays. He edits the well-known literary journal in Kannada, Desha Kaala. An engineer by training, Vivek works for a multinational and lives in Bangalore.

Prakash Belawadi is an award winning film maker, playwright, theatre director, writer and critic based in the city. Mounesh Badiger is a writer and theatre director and actor. Shiva Pathak is an actor and a freelance consultant and arts manager. Deepika Arwind is an actor, poet, short story writer and freelance journalist.
