Mangalore: Judicial Custody for Shoot Out-Accused, Javed Khan

Mangalore, Sep 9: Relating to an incident in which gangsters had fired at Suresh Bhandary, owner of Prithvi Developers, near Kadri Park in the city on May 26 this year, a court here remanded Javed alias Mohammed Javed Khan alias Ajai Singh, to judicial custody. Javed is from Uttar Pradesh.

A police team from the city had arrested him from Uttar Pradesh with help from the policemen of that state. It has come to light that he and his gang were also involved with similar incidents in Mysore in the past.

The policemen have already recovered 26 bullets and a motor bike used during this operation, from the house of Devadas Shetty, one of the accused. Eight persons are in judicial custody relating to the said shoot out so far.

The Kadri policemen are likely to seek police custody of Javed for further interrogation, it is learnt.
