Bangalore, Sep 10: Sandalwood actor, Darshan, who commands a huge fan following in Karnataka, was shifted from Parappana Agrahara jail to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases in the city, after he complained of fatigue and breathing problems, today morning.
The actor, on being produced in a court on Friday, was remanded to 14 days judicial custody. After actros Ambareesh and others held prolonged parleys with the actor's wife and other relatives, the judge was approached at his residence with an ammended version from Darshan's wife that she had suffered injuries after falling in the bathroom. However, the judge had refused to entertain her modified statement. A majority of sandalwood bigwigs are backing the actor, by saying that the incident is a family matter, and hence should not be dragged into the public domain.
Actor Vijay said that Darshan has been suffering from asthma, high blood pressure, liver problems and fatigue. He requested the fans, who were present in large numbers to show solidarity with their favourite hero, not to disturb the actor by gathering near the hospital in large numbers. Before being admitted to this hospital, the celebrated actor was referred to NIMHANS and Victoria Hospitals.
Dr Shashidhar Buggi, doctor of the hospital, who provided preliminary treatment to the actor, confirmed that Darshan has been suffering from asthma and that he was provided with oxygen. He said the health of the actor, who has since been shifted to a room, is being checked once every two hours . Dr Buggi also revealed that it might take three to four days before the actor can be discharged.
Dr Revdi of the hospital of the department of chest diseases confirmed that the actor has encountered breathing problems due to fatigue and change in climate.
In the meanwhile, actor Duniya Vijay told the fans that Vijayalaxmi, wife of Darshan, has since withdrawn her complaint, and renewed his request to them to calm down.
