Haryana, Dec 27: Born into an affluent family, Dr Rajesh Mohan's father serves as the secretary to the Chief Minister of Chandigarh, and with a younger brother in the Indian Army, many of his relatives hold prominent government positions.

Initially pursuing a career in medicine, Dr Rajesh worked in a government hospital in Chandigarh after completing his MBBS in 2012. Even during his tenure in the hospital, he displayed a compassionate inclination towards financially disadvantaged individuals, often providing assistance from his own resources. Driven by a deep-seated desire to serve the underprivileged, he decided to transition from being a doctor to an IPS officer.

In his commitment to pursuing a career as an IPS officer, Dr Rajesh made the significant decision to resign from his position at the government hospital. Despite resigning, he continued to extend help to patients during the challenging times of the Covid pandemic. His journey towards becoming an IPS officer was not without obstacles; he faced four unsuccessful attempts. Undeterred by these setbacks, he relocated from Chandigarh to Delhi to undergo additional coaching.

Ultimately, his perseverance and dedication paid off when he secured an impressive 102nd rank in the UPSC 2020 examination. Dr Rajesh, while acknowledging the role of coaching in his success, underscores the importance of self-study. He encourages UPSC aspirants to develop their own strategic approach, emphasizing the significance of repeated revisions to eliminate doubts and confidently answer questions during the examination.
