Kadaba: D V Sadananda Gowda reflects on statement that cost him CM’s chair

Daijiworld Media Network – Kadaba (EP)

Kadaba, Dec 27: Former chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda expressed his disappointment and reflected on a pivotal moment that led to his resignation during a recent programme in Kadaba. Speaking candidly, he attributed his downfall to a statement made during a Vokkaliga community event, where he recounted his birth within the community, receiving blessings from Adichunchanagiri Swamiji, and subsequently becoming the chief minister.

Gowda revealed that this statement played a decisive role in him losing the chief ministerial position. He indirectly expressed his discontent against the BJP leaders of that time, stating that he was asked to step down from his position.

During the programme, Gowda announced his decision to retire from election politics, pledging not to participate in any future elections. However, he expressed his intent to remain active in party activities, acknowledging the support he received from the party throughout his career. He criticized the current political landscape, lamenting the diminishing value of honest politics. According to him, contemporary politics relies on eloquence, financial resources, and factionalism, highlighting the challenging state of democratic processes.

Gowda emphasized his commitment to the BJP, viewing it as a preferable choice in comparison to other political parties, despite acknowledging the challenges and shifts in political dynamics.
