Darshan Case: Nikitha Banned by Produces, Terms it 'Most Hurting'

Bangalore, Sep 11 (IANS): What mistake have I committed to endure such a harsh punishment, asks multilingual actress Nikitha, who has been banned by the Kannada Producers' Association (KPA) for three years for allegedly creating trouble in her co-star Darshan's married life.

Darshan's wife Vijayalaksmi filed a police complaint alleging that her actor husband assaulted her and threatened her and their young child with his licenced revolver. The actor was arrested Friday. In her complaint she blamed Nikitha for the problem in her marital life.

Darshan, who is in 14-day judicial custody, was shifted to the Rajiv Gandhi Hospital Saturday morning where he is being treated for various ailments.

Vijaylakshmi, who retracted from her statement, visited him in the hospital Sunday.

"I heard the news about KPA banning me for three years. Just this morning I came to Mumbai from New Delhi after completing a modelling assignment," she told IANS.

"I got a phone call a known media person from Bangalore that a decision has been taken by the association to ban me. I think this has been the most hurting decision. What mistake have I committed to undergo such harsh punishments?"

The actress says the decision has not only spoiled her image, "it will also cast aspersions on my professional and public conduct. The producers have called me to hear my version. I am an artist in the Kannada film industry and I have acted with all top artists. Have they received any complaint about me from any artists or producer."

Nikitha will also speak to Vijayalakshmi and ask her why she mentioned her name in the police complaint.

Soorappa Babu, the Secretary of KPA, told IANS that the ban does not apply to the two incompleted films of Nikitha incluidng "Krantiveera Sangolli Raayanna", in which she is paired with Darshan.

But the incident has put many Kannada film producers in trouble, said Soorappa Babu.

Munirathna, president of KPA, said the decision pertains to the producers association and it does not relate to the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce.

"Since Vijayalakshmi has given a complaint naming the actress responsible for the storm in her marital life, we have taken a decision to ban the actress for three years," he said adding that the association has not spoken to Nikitha in this regard.

I think KPA should ban themselves from producing any films to avoid torture to all Kannadigas. 90% of the films produced are filth targeted at people who enjoy filth. Somebody rightly said 'don't fight with pigs. This should apply to KPA as well

First of all think you are a woman.Darshan and Nikhitha are equally responsible for this bitch game. Why not KPA has not taken any action against Darshan? How you say Nikhitha only a culprit. Most of actress life is similar to nikhitha otherwise in first film itself they will vanish from box office.

Let the bygons be bygons and leave alone darshan. Humans are polygamy by nature , a person can fall in love again and again , for Gods sake its not sin . I feel darshan and nikitha make handsome pair!, Why can't both of em live together!!??

First of all the quality of kannada films is deteriorating from past years.only few good quality films are made with good stories. The producers just want to earn profit. Now they want to ban an upcoming artist for no reason.KFCC is controlled by this producers. How many of of daijiworld readers think quality of kannada films made today are good.we only see handful of good kannada movies once in a while.

Producers have become Laughing stock of all the public.
"Yetthige jwara, Yemmege Bare" seems to be their policy.
The real culprit was not banned, but two women suffered under him suffer physically & mentally.
They should have heard Nikitha first, then should have taken this drastic step, instead they show their anti-eve decision, to safe guard their monetory interest only.
Its time they are hauled to court of law for this discrimination on the basis of gender as well as interfering in legal matter & trying to infulence delivery of justice which is equal to destruction of evidence by their actions.

What a decision by shameless film industry (ie present sandalwood) and shameless producers who are wid shameless challenging star (who challenges woman in real life)

What did Nikita do, that she should be banned from Kannada Film Industry? The culprit who should be banned is Challenging Star (in real life challenging villain) Darshan, who in real life challenged a woman withhis physical abuse on her....

What a bullshit marital life of film actors? They are all masala makers for popularity.Their personal life also like film. Why media people highlighting these all dramas? It is imitation of western culture by our high society people (low society-undeciplined-shameless). First of all we have to keep both husband(for assaulting wife) and wife (for complaining, after that compromising) behind bars for one year without enquiry.
