Udupi: Aiyappa devotee injured after accidental fall into burning charcoal during ritual

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (MS)

Udupi, Jan 4: During the Kendaseve ritual held as part of the annual celebration at the Malpe Aiyappa Mandira on Tuesday morning, a devoted follower of Lord Aiyappa suffered severe injuries after accidentally falling into the burning charcoal.

The injured devotee was admitted to the hospital.

In the coastal region, Aiyappa devotees observe the Kendaseve ritual every year as a longstanding tradition, wherein devotees pass on burning charcoal. Unfortunately, the injured devotee lost his balance, falling into the fiery embers.

Promptly, the fellow devotees rushed to his aid, ensuring he was swiftly shifted to the hospital. The entire incident was captured on the mobile phones of local bystanders who were present at the scene.

Sad incident... People must not venture into such holy act when they are half prepared and worthy... I have seen people performing such ceremonies with ease and that happens only when their focus is concentrated and not wavering... I wish him early recovery....

@Prakash; with proper scientific training, any normal person can do this type of ember walking; it has been demonstrated conclusively by so many rationalists, there remains no place for giving a miraculous narrative to such type of exercises; please do your own research and introspect, and if possible enlighten me further 🤔🤔😔🙏🙏

Mr. Aithappa has just expressed is views. Everyone need not agree with that. That is his belief. He is neither right nor wrong. One can not force his idea on others.

#Balakrishna; blind beliefs are very dangerous; recently, somewhere in the north, a couple was arrested for killing an young girl and devouring its organs after instructions from an adtropundit; such horrendous stories list....goed on an on and on..... happen almost every day somewhere or the other in this country... very unfortunate that even so called people holding big paper degrees believe in irrational things and propopgate them to the gullible public....🤐🤐🙏🙏

Iathappp sir, every religion has its own belief & we follow it, that's fine. but by looking into your comment, I feel that every politician should be made run over similar fire / charcoal so that we will know who is corrupt & who is with clean heart.

@Aithappa; Beliefs also should not cross a certain threshold of irrational thinking.... which then gets converted to madness; just yesterday one lady as rescued from Puttur area after she was confined in a room by her husband thinking that she was possessed by a ghost 👻🎃🤔🙏🙏

People should have guts to do 'kendaseve' by elders/teenaged people keeping full faith on Lord...he is after all a saviour. Our life devoted to him. On his wish only this universe runs.
