MP Nalin advocates for resumption of Mangaluru-Lakshadweep cruise service

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Jan 8: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has directed the district administration of Dakshina Kannada to initiate the necessary steps to commence a cruise service to Lakshadweep from the city.

Currently, tourists can access Lakshadweep from Kochi in Kerala by ship or flight. People from around the world must pass through Kochi to reach Lakshadweep. However, the island is closer to Mangaluru than Kochi. Even now, various goods such as building materials, fruits, and vegetables are shipped to Lakshadweep from the old port of Mangaluru.

In the past, a cruise liner operated from Mangaluru to Lakshadweep, offering tickets at a nominal price of Rs 250 to 300. Additionally, a separate tour package was available. Unfortunately, this service has been discontinued for several years. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has brought to the attention of the deputy commissioner the keen interest expressed by netizens through social media in visiting Lakshadweep. In this regard, MP Nalin has urged the deputy commissioner to take the necessary steps based on the information provided by his office.

Mangaluru could have been Tourism hub of South India, if we had visionary MP. When immoral rowdies carry out anti-social activities here, BJP stands by them and support them. This brough bad name to our twin districts & hampered our image across India. Tourists avoid such places, where they feel unsecure,

Nalin ji it's good to jump on such new ideas proposed by our dear PM. I would however request you that you could have done a lot for Mangalore when you were in power. Now just because PM Modiji gave this idea you have thought about it. Request if you abd the central government with the current state government unleash major infrastructure and tourism projects cone up in Mangalore. In fact Mangalore itself has many beautiful beaches which can development to world class. Let's first develop Mangaluru which is easy if you and the current government decide.

Tourist behavior in India is often criticized for its lack of etiquette. Instances of littering, bottle-throwing, public urination, and spitting are prevalent, and individuals tend to react defensively when confronted about such actions. The facilities in Lakshadweep are perceived to fall below international standards, making them less appealing compared to destinations like the Maldives. India, as a whole, struggles to attract international tourists due to its perceived cleanliness issues. Unlike cities such as Dubai or various Western and American counterparts, no Indian city can claim to match their standards. While we take pride in our historical achievements, the current state of cleanliness often leaves much to be desired

Everyone wil boycott Maldives and go to lakshadweep and stay where? In shacks? Does he even know how many good hotels are there? They run country by buying out the media and paying hypocritical celebrities to tweet on their govt propaganda. Is this how a country is run? And all this is lapped up by educated fools filled with hate.

Indians are the most hypocrites in the world. Today they’re saying boycott Maldives. Wait and watch in next few months - Indians will still be largest visitors to Maldives.

Well Modi is turning out to be a master of turning adversity into opportunity... Just like how UPI was popularized after notebandi blunder, Lakshadweep could see rapid infrastructure development for tourism.

Suddenly people in india realized that there is an island called Lakshadweep. Reading some tweets of Bollywood’stars’ and sone retired cricketers about the recent incident - I don’t think they would even respect their parents the way they respect a tea boy. I don’t understand why are they doing so much for the tea boy? Are they involved in some scams? Or scared of the tea boy? Shameful!
