Kabul, Sep 13 (IANS): Six people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a fierce gun battle that broke out close to the US embassy in Afghanistan's capital Kabul, which was also rocked by five blasts.
"The incident happened in Char Rahi Abdul Haq area which is close to the US embassy and NATO-led ISAF headquarters," an official told Xinhua requesting anonymity.
The attackers have occupied a tall building and are apparently targeting the US embassy.

Security forces took up positions on the roads leading to the US embassy.
The first explosion took place at around 1.30 p.m. and it was quickly followed by the gun battle.
