Daijiworld Media Network – Bantwal (EP)

Bantwal, Jan 10: Two KSRTC buses, driven recklessly and at high speeds, collided while overtaking, resulting in a serious injury to a female college student riding a two-wheeler here on Wednesday January 10.

The incident occurred at Vagga, where Pallavi, the daughter of Allipade Periyar Dota Gopala Safalya, sustained injuries.

The buses, en route from Dharmasthala to Mangaluru, were speeding and driving recklessly when they attempted to overtake at the Kelagina Vagga curve. In doing so, they collided with the two-wheeler ridden by the female student from Bantwal, who was heading to Vamadapadavu college.

The student, critically injured due to the negligence of the bus drivers, is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Mangaluru's Father Muller Hospital.

Gopala Safalya, the father of the accident victim, is reportedly on a pilgrimage to Sabarimala.

The Bantwal traffic police visited the accident site and conducted an inspection.

Our RTO is responsible for this as they don't take strict action nor fine when they see these buses break rules in front of them.

Most of the accidents occurred because the service bus stand is at Nehru maidan. If it's shifted to Pumpwell, accidents can be controlled because almost all buses are struck in Mangalore city, to cover up the time these drivers drive recklessly. That what I believe.

Please legislators need to bring an act baring such drivers from driving profession or any kind of public service for life with hefty fine.

Hope the young girl recovers soon; road accidents have become so very common in DK that it no more makes a sensational news; IMO two wheeler riders have the highest probability of suffering a tragic accident and should be avoided by all means as far as possible especially on the main roads!!😔😔🙏

KSRTC drivers are so careless while driving. I feel sacred If I find a KSRTC on road while driving. There is no proper discipline for KSRTC drivers, They think they own the government.
