Kasaragod, Jan 10: The dead body of an unidentified youth was found in the river at Koppala Kaje near Manjeshwar Hosangadi.
The mortal remains, which was found without any clothes on the person, of the individual is estimated to be around 35 years of age.
The residents of the area noticed the body and informed the Manjeshwar police station and thereafter the police arrived at the spot and conducted an inquest.
The body has been taken to Kasaragod General Hospital for a post-mortem examination. It is suspected that the person may have died three days ago. The face is unrecognisable.
The river flows from Puttur on the Vittal side and through areas such as Anekal, Munnippadi, Kodange Wamanjur Check Post, Koppala Kaje and joins the Hosabettu Sea.
