Mumbai: EMMORZEAL 2023-24, annual inter-collegiate fest of held at SM Shetty College

Mumbai, Jan 13: Emmorzeal, the annual intercollegiate fest of Bunts Sangha’s SM Shetty College got off to a grand start on January 12. The inaugural function held in the auditorium was graced by many dignitaries, participating students and staff members.

The function began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries and guests.

This was followed by a prayer song in Kannada, dedicated to the Goddess Sharada, performed by the students. An enchanting classical dance performance followed this, dedicated to Lord Krishna.

The formal function was graced by president Bunts Sangha Praveen Bhoja Shetty, guest of honour, prominent film and television actor Amit Pachori, chairman PEC Ratnakar Shetty Mundkur, vice chairmen PEC Vasant Shetty Palimar and CA Harish D Shetty, secretary PEC Gautam S Shetty, treasurer PEC CA Ashok R Shetty, vice president Bunts Sangha and PEC coordinator Mahesh Shetty, Dr Sandeep Singh, COO, A&A, principal, vice principals and guests.

Shridevi Shetty, student cultural leader, set forth the theme of Emmorzeal - Tapestry Town which envisions a dreamscape filled with diverse colours and cultures.

Principal Dr Shridhara Shetty welcomed the guests and dignitaries. He said that the college now has the challenge of living up to the laurels bestowed on it, namely the NAAC A+ Grade and Best College Award. Emmorzeal aims to provide a platform to showcase talent and to provide a platform for students across Mumbai to express themselves, he said. Dr Shetty, while welcoming the guest of honour Amit Pachori, said that he is an inspiration to all and an example of how success is achieved through persistence. He praised the efforts of the students saying that the event provides practical experience in event management.

The welcome address was followed by the felicitation of the guests and dignitaries.

In his address, PEC chairman Ratnakar Shetty Mundkur lauded the efforts of students and staff in organizing Emmorzeal. He said, "The fest celebrated the spirit of the college and the diversity of our country." He reiterated the management’s commitment to support students in unraveling and showcasing their talents. He urged the students to explore their own talents and build new friendships.

Guest of honour, actor Amit Pachori commended the college for supporting the talent and efforts of the students. He said that the college displayed a vibrant and positive atmosphere and urged students to use their talents to shine.

President Bunts Sangha Praveen Bhoja Shetty in his address appreciated the performances of the students in the inauguration function. He remarked that the Emmorzeal is a reflection creative skills of our students. He asked the students to learn and grow and build good memories. He also expressed his gratitude to the sponsors of Emmorzeal.

The president's remarks were followed by the dignitaries declaring Emmorzeal 2023-24 open.

Assistant professor and head of cultural team Ashwini Devadiga proposed a vote of thanks. She expressed gratitude to the supportive management, the guest of honour for his time and to all the staff members for their efforts. She made a mention of the sponsors of the event and thanked the students and volunteers for their untiring efforts.
