Mangaluru, Jan 14: The Indiana Hospital and Heart Institute organised the 'Indiana Annual Sports Meet 2024' at St Aloysius PU College on Sunday, January 14.
The dignitaries Pradeep Kumar, Dr Yusuf Kumble, Dr Ali Kumble and others inaugurated the annual sports meet by releasing the balloon and also by hoisting the flag.
General Manager, Kasharp fitness and commonwealth power lifting champion Pradeep Kumar said, "A doctor's profession is a holistic job with a lot of challenges coming their way. Being in fitness, I have closely seen the routine of doctors and their lifestyle. Their contribution to the society is enormous. I need to advice that many will come with an resolution to begin a year with a healthy lifestyle, but they are unable to start even after half of the month is complete. I want to say that they should start with brisk walk either in the morning or evening and prioritise sleep. Also, try to say 'no' to sugar and vegetable oil."
Speaking on the occasion, managing director Dr Yusuf Kumble urged the participants to involve in activity to be fit and in order to be fit one need not be a sportsman. "Involve in an activity whichever you can and make it a habit," he said.
Wife of Pradeep Kumar, international power lifter Swathi Pradeep Acharya, medical director Dr Apoorva S, medical administrator Dr Adithya Bharadwaj, principal and dean, Indiana College of Physiotherapy Dr Ajay Thakur, principal Indiana Nursing College Manu Joseph and others were present.
Indiana Stallions, Indiana Rising Stars, Indiana Tornadoes and Indiana Blue Wings took part in the colourful march past. At the same time a marathon was also conducted for the staffers of the Indiana Hospital.
