Kasargod, Sep 15: Under the joint aegis of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy, Gowda Saraswat Seva Sangh, and Kasargod Lord Varadaraja Venkataramana Temple, ‘Gadinadu Konkani Sanskriti’ programme will be organized on September 17.

The venue of the programme will be Lalitakala Sadana. MLA, N A Nellikunnu, will inaugurate the programme at 4.30 pm on September 17. Kasargod Chinna, who heads Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Acdemy, will preside over the inaugural. After the inaugural, a session by poets from different languages will be organized. At 7 pm, a Konkani Yakshagana performance, ‘Veera Abhimanyu’, by a women’s troupe led by Pratima D Nayak, Shimoga, will be staged.

Cultural programmes will be held from 9.30 am onwards on September 18, at Sri Sankeertana Hall of Lord Varadaraja Venkataramana Temple here. The programmes to be presented include ‘Tatingana’ by Master Madhava Kamath and troupe, Konkani Kolata by children, folk dance by Raksha Kamath and team, Konkani stories by Sachin Mallya, Prabha Nayak, and troupe, Konkani dance drama by Namita Kamath and troupe, Konkani songs by Tara V Shenoy and troupe, and various other programmes.

M Ranganath Mallya will deliver the valedictory address at the concluding session to be held from 4.30 pm onwards. The valedictory programme will be presided over by Kasargod Chinna.
