Mangaluru, Jan 19: On the occasion of birthday of Br Antonio Moscheni, St Aloysius Institutions organized ‘MOSCHENI Art Fest’ on January 16 at Sahodaya Hall.
The event began with the ribbon cutting of art exhibition by Silvana Rizzi from Italy where the students of Aloysian Institutions and Karavali Chithrakalachavadi artists displayed their art. Rizzi then unveiled a drawing on the theme ‘Women of all Shades are Beautiful.’
During the fest, painting competition was organized for the Aloysians under various categories. The students from St Aloysius College (Autonomous), St Aloysius College of ITI, St Aloysius College of BEd, St Aloysius PU College, St Aloysius High School, St Aloysius Primary School and St Aloysius Gonzaga School participated in great numbers.
This event was graced by the presence of rector of St Aloysius Institutions, Fr Melwyn Joseph Pinto, Dr Leo D’Souza, director of the laboratory of Applied Biology, Italian guests Alberto Pessani, Simone Tangorra (Mayor of Stezzano), Christina Modolo and Dr Nicolo Biavardi, Staff coordinators Vidya Kumari, Reema Krishna Jalihal and John Chandran, members of staff and students.
The ‘Documentary on Br Antonio Moscheni’ was released in the formal function held in LCRI hall. This event was graced by all the Italian guests Silvana Rizzi, Alberto Pessani, Simone Tangorra, Christina Modolo and Dr Nicolo Biavardi, rector of the college, Fr Melwyn Joseph Pinto, principal of the college, Fr Praveen Martis SJ, finance officer Fr Vincent Pinto and Dr Leo D’Souza, directors of various blocks, staffs and students.
The programme began with prayer, welcome dance and lighting the lamp followed by release which was glimpse of documentary. Vidya Kumari gave the welcome speech, Silvana Rizzi and Fr Principal addressed the gathering. Silvana Rizzi, Simone Tangorra and Christina Modolo were honored for their immense contribution.
Results of the painting competition were announced by Archana Yashodhar. After the presidential talk by Fr rector, there was screening of the 40 minutes documentary. The programme was compered by Dr Mona Mendonca, department of history.
