Mumbai, Sep 16: Imran Khan's move to the Bombay High Court against the Maharashtra government regarding the age limit on liquor consumption has been well appreciated by many.

Actor Shahid Kapoor especially has praised Imran for his move. In social networking site Twitter, Shahid wrote, " 'N was great to see Imran Khan do the PIL thing although I don't drink but was great to see him stand up for what he believes in . Power to the youth . We are the change . Peace out all . Have a good one."

Speaking about the issue at hand, Imran said that by filing the PIL, he was not promoting drinking but is just standing up for what he feels strongly about. "I am fighting for the youth's freedom of choice," said actor Imran Khan on Wednesday September 14 after he filed the PIL.a public interest litigation (PIL) at the Bombay High Court challenging the state government's decision to increase the legal drinking age from 21 to 25 years as part of its new deaddiction policy.

In his argument, Imran says that when the legal age to marry and to vote is lesser  it does not make sense to him that the minimum legal age to drink is raised to 25 years. He adds, "If we live in a democracy we must stand and speak up. This decision (of the state government) is not in the interest of democracy."
