Beltangady, Jan 29: Police arrested Syed Basheer, the owner of the firecracker godown where a massive blast occurred on Sunday, resulting in three labourers being blown to pieces. It has been reported that Basheer was on the run following the incident and has now been taken into custody in Sullia. He is currently being interrogated at an undisclosed location.

A first information report (FIR) has been filed at the Venoor police station based on a complaint filed by Shanti, a resident of Kudthyaru, Kukkedi village.

According to the details provided in the FIR, Basheer was manufacturing explosives with three individuals of Kerala origin and six from Hassan without taking necessary precautions. This lack of caution led to the explosion, causing the immediate death of two individuals, whose bodies were blown into pieces at the scene. A third person succumbed to injuries while being transported to the Beltangady government hospital.

The Venoor police station has registered a case in this regard. Western Range DIG Amit Singh and SP C B Ryshyanth visited the site to inspect the surroundings.

Explosives have been manufactured without LICENSE!!!??? How come the concerned authorities allowed them illegal storage and manufacture??? Where were the local Panchayat officials and area Policemen??? It's strange everyone is running to the incident site to fool people! NEGLIGENCE BY APPROPRIATE AUTHORITIES IS THE MAIN REASON for this tragic incident and losing poor peoples lives!!!

All done, the authority which granted permissions along with GSTN number etc. etc. to such a crude explosive off unit, should be immediately taken to task and thorough high level enquiry instituted to get into the depth of this factorys history, especially since the spot is in the vicinity of some famous pilgrimage places!

Karnataka is turning into a hot bed for extremism. Many Keralites are flocking to the state and indulging in anti national activities. The current Govt has doled out schemes to protect certain elements in the guise of 'Mugda Alpasankyatharu ' scheme. Hence they remain blind and deaf on such incidents. 76 seats is a huge favour to put your foot down.

Why keralites and many people from other far flung states too are arriving in droves here, because there is severe scarcity of local labour? Most local workers are busy in political and religious related activities like moral policing, sloganeering, posting banners etc etc 😜😀🙏
