Kundapur: Student who participated in Republic Day parade in Delhi felicitated

Kundapur, Feb 2: Gargi Devi, ninth grade student of HMM and VKR school and Nritya Vasantha Natyalaya of the taluk, who participated in the Republic Day parade that was held at New Delhi on January 26 was taken in grand procession by the school administration.

The procession which began in an open vehicle from Shastri Circle of the city made a huge round via Parijata Circle and Old Bus stand and reached Shastri Circle again. Students of the school, parents, members of the school administrative committee, teachers and non-teaching staff and the public joined the procession.

Responding to the media, Gargi Devi said, “This is an opportunity that came my way without expectation. The encouragement I got in my school and by my parents is the reason for me to get this opportunity. This is also an honour to the art of dance. The moment was unforgettable in my life.”

Gargi Devi presented a dance in the Pareeksha Pe Charcha programme in the presence of PM Modi. She secured a bronze medal in the classical dance category of national level art festival of 2023-24.
