Mangaluru, Feb 12: In a recent development, the St Gerosa English Higher Primary School in Jeppu has taken swift action by suspending a teacher accused of hurting particular religious sentiments among her students.
In an official communication addressed to the parents, the school's management emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive relationship and ensuring uninterrupted academic studies. To address the incident, the accused teacher has been immediately removed from the institution, and a replacement teacher will be appointed promptly.
This decision aims to facilitate a thorough and unbiased inquiry into the matter by the concerned District authorities, with the assurance of full cooperation from the school management. The school pledges to abide by the results of the inquiry and calls for equal cooperation from all parents during this critical juncture in the academic year.
The management has stated, "St Gerosa School, with a 60-year history, has not witnessed such an incident before. The institution is committed to upholding constitutional values, treating all faiths and communities with equality. Despite the temporary mistrust resulting from this unfortunate incident, the school is optimistic that the decisive measures taken, coupled with active cooperation from parents, will contribute to rebuilding trust and fostering a brighter future for all students."
