Mangaluru, Feb 17: The Congress Convention event is currently underway at Sahyadri College ground in the outskirts of the city, with prominent figures of the Congress party in attendance, including party president Mallikarjun Kharge, chief minister Siddaramaiah, and deputy chief minister D K Shivkumar. In response, the BJP Yuva Morcha Mangaluru organized a protest on Airport Road near Bondel on Saturday, February 17.

Upon arrival, the police addressed the crowd, instructing them to refrain from causing any disturbances, emphasizing that no prior permission had been sought or granted for the protest. Despite the instructions, the Yuva Morcha members refused to vacate the area, asserting their fundamental right to protest and expressing their opposition to perceived injustices by the Congress party.

As tensions escalated, police commissioner Anupam Agarwal arrived at the scene to engage with the protesters. However, as the situation intensified, the police commissioner ordered all individuals involved in the protest to be detained.
