Kundapur, Feb 18: Former Education Minister Kimmane Ratnakar stressed the importance of providing free education to children up to PUC (Pre-University Course) exclusively in government colleges to foster the creation of a capable India. Kimmane expressed this viewpoint while addressing the officials honored during the annual day celebration of Madhura Yuvaka Mandala Sauda on Saturday.
During his speech, Kimmane recounted his tenure as the education minister, emphasizing the priority he gave to education. He revealed plans to establish model schools in every gram panchayat and affirmed his ongoing commitment to free and quality education.
Kimmane also highlighted the need for environmental awareness, citing the devastating impact of earthquakes and cyclones on human lives. He advocated for comprehensive studies in this area to address environmental challenges.
The felicitation ceremony acknowledged the contributions of H Diwakar Shetty Sauda, retired co-director of the public education department, and Sadananda Adiga Heradejeddu, a weather expert from the Indian Meteorological Department. Kimmane Ratnakara was also honored by the club during the event.
The event was attended by Kundapur AC Rashmi S R, Sauda Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple's administrative trustee Vani R Adiga, and president S Udaya Aithal.
