Bantwal, Sep 25:
A house belonging to a grocery trader, where grocery items were stored, was burnt in a fire in Vitla here on the morning of Saturday September 24 morning and the loss is expected to be significant.

Shreedhar Pai’s house located on the Vitla-Kasargod road caught fire accidentally and most of the items were partially burnt. His shop is located adjacent next to his residence and coconut oil, red chilly, as well as the roof of the house and furniture, was burnt.

The fire brigade arrived from Puttur and with the help of local people doused the flames. Vitla police also rushed to the spot and action has been taken. The amount of loss is yet to be estimated.
