Kasargod, Feb 24: A resident of Kayyar met with a fatal accident and died in Mumbai.

The deceased is identified as Ruben Charles Crasta (39) and son of the late Marcel and Leena Crasta. Despite efforts to save him, Ruben succumbed to his injuries shortly after the incident.

Reports indicate that Ruben, who was engaged in his own business in Mumbai, was riding his bike when the tragedy struck. His bike skidded, causing him to fall onto the road, where he was subsequently run over by a passing truck. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Ruben could not be saved.

Ruben, who had only returned to his native Kayyar three months prior, leaves behind a grieving family. His mortal remains are slated to be brought to Mangaluru on Saturday, with final rites scheduled to take place at the Christ King Church, Kayyar at 4 pm on Sunday, according to family sources.

Ruben is survived by wife Prajna, daughter Reeva, and siblings Shalet, Jeevan, Brian, Pramila, Roshan, Janet and Sharmila.
