Mangaluru: Interstate chain snatchers arrested, Rs 90000 worth gold chain recovered

Mangaluru, Feb 24: A gold chain was forcibly snatched from a woman walking alone on J M Road, Bajal, by interstate chain robbers. A police complaint was lodged at Kankanady police station. Subsequently, the police apprehended the suspects and successfully recovered the gold chain valued at Rs. 90,000 from them. 

The arrested accused are identified as Mohammed Ali (32) and Zubair (32), both residents of B Mooda village, B C Road, Bantwal. 

 

Mohammed Ali, also known as Ashru, is facing a total of 15 pending cases, including house thefts, robbery, and jail altercations, across various police stations in Badiadka, Manjeshwar, Bantwal, Vittal, Bantwal Rural, and Barke. 

The operation was conducted under the leadership of Kankanady police station inspector T D Nagaraj by PSI Shivakumar, PSI Anita Nikkam, ASI Venkatesh, Chandrashekar and staff Jayananda, Kushal Hegde, Deepak Kotian, Rajesh K N, Raghavendra, Santhosh Madar and Praveen under directions of assistant police commissioner Dhanya Nayak, DySPs Siddarth Goel and Dinesh Kumar and under guidance from police commissioner Anupam Agarwal.
