Sullia: Rice grinder catches fire, major tragedy averted by alert house owner

Daijiworld Media Network – Sullia (MS)

Sullia, Feb 25: A potentially disastrous incident was narrowly averted when a large rice grinder caught fire in Halegate town on Friday evening.

The fire broke out in the residence of Sadiq, where the grinder was used to process substantial amounts of rice. Sadiq, occupied with other tasks in an adjoining room, noticed the smell of burning wires. Upon investigating, he discovered the grinder ablaze.

Quick-thinking Sadiq promptly switched off the main power and moved a nearby gas cylinder to the verandah, preventing a potential major tragedy.

The grinder, purchased just five months ago by Sadiq, is now the subject of a filed complaint at the Sullia police station.
