Mangaluru, Feb 26: “Thousands of crores of development have taken place when BJP came to power at the Centre and after I became the MP,” said MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.

He was speaking after the prime minister inaugurated virtually the Bantwal Amruth Bharath project works being taken up at a cost of Rs 28.49 crore.

"Railway stations have developed. The Narendra Modi government has given Rs. 2,650 crore during the last 10 years. Electrification of rail line from Palghat to Mangaluru has been completed. Puttur station was developed under the Adarsh project and Bantwal and Subrahmanya stations have completely changed," said MP Nalin.

“Most of the bridges at Alape, Jappu Kudpadi, Mahakali Padpu, Puttur APMC and the one near Vivekananda College have been completed. Vande Bharath Express train has come to Mangaluru. The Thiruvananthapuram-Kasaragod train has been extended up to Mangaluru. Rs 7,524 crore have been provided to the state railways this time. Railway horses have picked up speed,” he said.

Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik Ulippadi said that MP Nalin Kumar has brought crores for this part. “Competitions about essays on railways are being held for children,” he said.

Railway divisional engineer Sawan Kumar, assistant commercial manager Umesh Nayak were present. Mysuru mechanical division’s Kavitha and chief ticket inspector Vittal Nayak compered the programme.

School children performed dances and cultural programmes. Prizes were distributed to winners of essay and drawing competitions. Former MLA A Rukmaya Poojary, Harikrishna Bantwal, Ramadas Bantwal, Chennappa Kotian, Devappa Poojary and others were present.

    All the inaugurations done by Modi and no one else whether its Temple or roads or any companies. all done by Modi and what Nalin has done? Pumpwell Flyover which took more then 10 years to complete? other then this Nalin has not done anything his report card is Zero.

    If all places including toilets are inaugurated by PM, what is the use of ministers with respective portfolio ?. Example ..Nitin Gadkari hardly seen in inaugural functions despite working well. Cheap marketing...18 hours can be used for better purpose...
