Mumbai: CCCI Presents ‘Entrepreneurial Achiever’s Award’ to Rafael Sequeira Madantyar

Mumbai, Sep 27: The Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) convened its 8th annual general body meeting at Hotel Kohinoor Continental auditorium, J B Nagar, Andheri (East), on Sunday September 25.

The presentation ceremony of the ‘Annual Award–2011’ was also held during the programme.

CCCI chairman Henry Lobo presided over the programme. Fr John Rumao was the chief guest on the occasion.

Renowned entrepreneur and resource person Avinash Badkar was the guest of honour.



The Entrepreneurial Achiever’s Award sponsored by Electrop Neumatics was presented to Rafael A Sequeira Madantyar.  Social Welfare Award sponsored by Daniel and Sons was presented to John Joseph, the Social Service Award sponsored by Well Win was presented to Fr Gregory Lobo, and the Aldel Education Trust sponsored Young Entrepreneur Achiever’s Award was presented to Joset Antony Pattathu on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Fr Rumao said that people who seek social welfare deserve the awards.  “The conferring of awards on young entrepreneurs indeed inspires more youngsters to set up their enterprises,” he added.

Badkar said that entrepreneurs overcome the challenges of globalization, economic setbacks, and legal constraints to succeed in their respective businesses.  He lauded the platform set up by CCCI in inspiring entrepreneurship among the new generation.

Henry Lobo, in his presidential address, announced the future plans for educational and woman achiever’s awards.

CCCI founder president Vincent Mathias, vice-presidents John D’Silva, Albert W D’Souza and Antony Sequeira, as well as youth wing president Dr Richard Pereira were present on the dais.

Fr Felix D’Souza, Mogaveer Chamber of Commerce and Industry president lawyer Sanjeev S Kanchan, Jayasrikrishna Parisara Premi Samiti president Tonse Jayakrishna A Shetty, former president Vishwanat U Mada, World Tulu Sammelan Mumbai Committee vice president Dharmapal U Devadiga, social activist Alice Therattil, labour union leader Felix A D’Souza, Catholic Sabha Mumbai president Gorden D’Souza, former president Dolphy D’Souza, and CCCI executive secretary S K Swamy were also present.

CCCI secretary Felix D’Souza rendered the prayers.  Kenneth Sequeira and Lara Menezes compered the programme.  CCCI youth wing president Dr Richard Pereira proposed the vote of thanks.
