Three arrested in pro-Pakistan slogan raising case in Karnataka


Bengaluru, Mar 4 (IANS): In a big development, the Karnataka police have arrested three persons in connection with the alleged raising of pro-Pakistan slogans in the Assembly premises by the supporters of Congress leader Naseer Hussain following his election to the Rajya Sabha recently.

The office of the central DCP has released a press note in this regard on Monday confirming the arrests.

According to sources, the accused have been identified as Iltaz from Delhi, Munnavar, a resident of R.T. Nagar in Bengaluru, and Mohammad Nashipudi, a resident of Byadagi town in Haveri district of the state. The trio will be produced before the judge of the ACMM court at his residence in Koramangala after medical examination, the sources added.

The Vidhana Soudha police, which registered the case, have made the arrests.

The police said in the release that the arrests were made on the basis of the report prepared by the forensic science laboratory (FSL), circumstantial evidence, statements of the accused, and the evidence gathered by the police during the course of investigation.

    Good secular move by Lord Siddaraya police...there was no need to raise these slogans in public place.. if they love pakistan they could have said that inside the four walls of the house. but i also expect similar trreatment to kalladka bhatta who openly abuses minority communities....it is also against the law

    Unlike BJP Karnataka congress govt is unbiased and not protecting minorities with clean chits. If Naseer Hussain were to be in BJP he would have got clean chit and BJP would have blamed congress for sloganeering and arrested some unknown innocent as scape goat for eye wash and release from back door.

    Even before report result was announced several congress minister gave clean chit, Kharge said there is no mention of Pakistan, Lakshmi Hebbalkar said I heard 10 times there is no mention of Pakistan, if people of this community who shouted Pakistan zindabad have so much patriotism towards Pakistan why the hell they live India?
