Bengaluru, Mar 6: The introduction of the Pallakki Utsava luxury sleeper bus service by KSRTC has received a positive response from the public, prompting the corporation to plan the addition of 100 more buses.
Operating under the tagline 'Happiness Travels’, the service has been running at full capacity since its inception, thanks to its budget-friendly pricing, which has resonated well with the public.
Chief minister Siddaramaiah flagged off the Pallakki Utsava buses in October last year, with KSRTC initially introducing 40 buses on an experimental basis.
Pallakki is a non-AC sleeper bus service offering 30 sleeper berths. Each berth is equipped with a mobile holder, mobile charger, and a designated space for footwear. Passengers can receive and provide information through an audio system, along with an emergency alert feature. The seats are equipped with LED lights, digital clocks, and LED floor lighting. Additionally, an ultramodern rear camera assists the driver.
Anbu Kumar, MD of KSRTC, stated, "Since its introduction in October, Pallakki sleeper buses have become one of the most sought-after services of KSRTC. This year, we introduced 40 buses and received an excellent response from the public. As a result, we plan to add 100 more buses to the service this year."
"We offer various sleeper bus services, including Ambari Utsav and Ambari Dream Class buses, as well as premium air-conditioned buses. Despite the availability of these options, the demand for the budget-friendly Pallakki non-AC sleeper buses is on the rise," Kumar added.
"Pallakki buses cater to passengers who prefer non-AC travel and are ideal for those traveling long distances from Bengaluru and other districts," Kumar concluded.
