Doha, Mar 6: Bunts Qatar, under its new management committee, organized the Mega Cultural Show-2024, highlighting the rich and vibrant cultural values of the region at the DPS auditorium. The live musical performance by dynamic singers Nihal Tauro, renowned for Indian Idol, and Sanvi Shetty, celebrated from Sa Re Ga Ma, had a catalyst effect on the evening. The Yakshagana performance titled 'Naatya Vaibhava' by the members, particularly the young participants from Bunts Qatar, emanated grace and professional elegance. Supported by Mohan Edaneer and Sachin Edaneer who traveled all the way from Bahrain to assist the Yakshagaana team with costumes and makeup. Bunts Qatar members and the Doha dancing squad entertained the gathering with energetic cine dance performances and graceful semi-classical dances. A packed DPS auditorium audience cheered the special performances with thunderous applause and dancing to the songs performed by singers Nihal and Saanvi.
The programme commenced as scheduled with cultural secretary Akshini Shetty delivering the opening remarks and introducing the MC of the event, well-known actress & anchor Soujanya Hegde.
A grand procession followed by aarti welcomed the chief guest of the event, K Prakash Shetty, founder & chairman of MRG Group, along with guests of honour Daya Shetty, CID Fame, actor film & TV, and Suggi Sudhakar Shetty - president Bunts Sangha Hubli-Dharwad. The procession was a culmination of poorna kumbha swaagatha, Bunt ladies holding Kalashas to commence the auspicious festivities, children in Yakshagana costumes, decorated umbrellas and Chende mela. In line with traditions, the event was auspiciously initiated by all the guests lighting of the lamp accompanied by the divine live song by Saanvi Shetty.
The newly elected president, Naveen Shetty Iruvail in his welcome address thanked all those who supported the mega event and assured to take Bunts Qatar ahead with togetherness and harmony in his own witty style. He also thanked the chief guest for gracing the occasion and congratulated him for being unanimously elected as the chairman of the Bunts Matru Sangha new building committee, appreciating his immense contributions to society.
Another significant aspect of the event was the formal introduction and induction of newly elected president and managing committee members by the guests. Naveen Shetty Iruvail president, Subodh Shetty vice president, Sukaram Shetty general secretary, Sunil Kumar Shetty treasurer, Akshini Vignesh Shetty cultural secretary, Naveen Shetty Madantyar sports secretary, Chidanand Rai joint general secretary, Pooja Adarsh Shenava joint cultural secretary, Preethan Rai special needs, Dinesh Shetty logistic & youth coordinator, and Manoj Shetty membership & environmental coordinator were inducted for the year 2023-25 with professional elegance in a unique style.
The chief guest, K Prakash Shetty, was felicitated by the management committee and other dignitaries. He later delivered a motivating speech to the audience, appreciating the community works of Bunts Qatar and its efforts in uniting the society irrespective of caste and religion.
Guests of honour, Daya Shetty, Suggi Sudhakar Shetty, and guests Nithin Shetty president Bunts Sangha Bahrain and Upendra Shetty, past president Bunts Sangha Bengaluru, were also honoured for gracing the special occasion. Event sponsor Dr M Ravi Shetty, founder president Bunts Qatar & managing director ATS Group, was felicitated by the chief guest and other dignitaries for his continued support and contribution to society.
Karnataka Rajyotsava awardee Deepak Shetty, vice president ICBF Doha Qatar, was felicitated. Dr Padmashree Shetty advisory chairman Bunts Qatar, K Shrinath Hebbar, managing director Land Trades, Madhava Naik, movie producer & businessman, Tulu movie actor Siddarth Shetty, Krishna Adyanthaya, and various sponsors were honored with mementos for their support and presence at the event. Media representatives, event team and team leaders, Volunteers, technical team, and choreography team were invited on stage and honoured by dignitaries.
The trailer of a tulu movie ‘Yaan Superstar’ acted and produced by Daya Shetty was played and a song from ‘Thudar’ movie acted by Siddarth Shetty was released with a cheerful response from audience.
All president and representatives of Karnataka based associations and apex bodies ICC, ISC & ICBF were welcomed by draping with Bunts Qatar special shawl.
The MC of the evening Soujanya Hegde conducted the whole event flawlessly engaging the audience throughout the event with timely humour and witty talks. All managing committee members, volunteers and participants worked tirelessly to make the event successful and memorable.
