Bunts Bahrain organisation performs community Satyanarayana Pooje

Bahrain, March 6: Non-resident organization of Bunts community, Bunts Bahrain held a community Satyanarayana Pooje at the Kannada Bhavan Auditorium, Manama here recently. More than 800 devotees took part in the poojas and prayers with devotion.

This was the first programme by the organisation since the new management under the leadership of Nithin Shetty was formed.

The rituals were started after welcoming the specially invited guests. Priest Vedamurthy Chakrapani Udupa who had arrived at the island from the homeland specially for the purpose, performed the Ganapathi Pooje, Kalasa Pooje, Navagraha Pooje and Satyanarayana Kalpokthi Pooje which were followed by Bhajans and Mangalarathi.

 

Addressing the gathering of devotees, the newly elected president Nithin Shetty thanked and said that the cooperation of everybody is necessary for taking the community organization forward.

Priest Chakrapani Udupa was meanwhile felicitated by draping a shawl around him and was presented a memento.

Former president of Bunts Bahrain Mohan Das Rai, who was instrumental for the formation of Amma Kalavidaru organisation and one led in the cultural sector in the island for the last two decades was felicitated on the occasion with a shawl and a memento on his leaving the island to live in the homeland.

Presidents of various communities, office-bearers and members took part in the community Satyanarayana pooje. Theertha Prasada was distributed to the devotees after the Mangalarathi. Delicious meals were served as part of Mahaprasada.
