I totally subscribe to the fact that it was implemented. But, cost is on the voters who voted. High electricity bill, costly booze, higher property tax and higher property registration fee among others. So, free travel which you will once in a while avail in a year is really worth it? Is free travel is all we want in our life? No, not everybody is getting free electricity. Siddu has blamed Modi for not giving enough rice to throw away. Crying foul in summer about imaginary drought also did not help. What did we get in the end?

Dear KS MAYYA, Over 41. 86 lakh women in the state will be benefitted from the scheme irrespective of their religion and caste. For example, the monthly bus (except AC bus) fare on BMTC bus is Rs 1,050 per month. 2,100 per month is directly saved if two women in a working-class family go to work and rely on BMTC buses. A saving of two thousand rupees is a huge amount for people from the middle-class family. Also, lakhs of women, come Bengaluru for work from neighbouring taluk/district centres like Tumkur, Kolar and Chikkaballapur etc. If the monthly up and down charge for Bangaluru is kept at 3000, the money saved for a family is nothing less. It is important to think about the impact of free electricity for BPL card holders. While it may seem like a small benefit to some, it can make a huge difference in the lives of those living on the outskirts of Bangalore, villages in Tumkuru also in Namma Kudla - who are struggling to make ends meet. By providing free electricity to those in need, congress govt is helping to alleviate some of the financial burdens they face.
