Mumbai, Sep 29: Ranbir Kapoor, who celebrated his 29th birthday on Wednesday September 28, spent a quiet dinner with his parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu which was followed by a glamorous birthday bash thrown by his buddies from in and around the film industry.

Despite Ranbir’s protests on not wanting a birthday bash, his pals would not take no for an answer. Actor Sanjay Dutt, filmmakers Karan Johar and Ayan Mukerji were the first to be spotted at the venue at around 11pm.

On the other hand, Ranbir is said to be dating Nargis Fakhri, his co-star in Rockstar . While Neetu is very selective about Ranbir’s choice, it seems this time Ranbir has been able to make his mother happy. At the party, Neetu Kapoor was seen embracing Nargis. All this, in the presence of Deepika. While Ranbir and Deepika were a couple, it was rumoured that Neetu had not shown much liking towards her. Stars like filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, Priyanka Chopra were also invited.

Pleased by the gesture, Ranbir said, “I had not planned anything... this is a lovely surprise by my friends.”

Apart from his parents, Ranbir's aunt Reema Jain was also spotted here. Mohit Chauhan, Bhushan Kumar, Kainaat Arora,Anurag Basu, Aalim Hakim, Haseena Jethmalani, Aki Narula and choreographer Bosco were also present. David Dhawan's sons Rohit and Varun walked in together.
