UK Tabloid Brings Up Freida Pinto's 'Skin-Tone' Controversy

Mumbai, Sep 29: First it was Beyonce, now it is Freida's turn to get caught up with 'colour enhancement' issues.

Tabloids in the UK allege that a cosmetic company gave Freida a 'Caucasian' look in their latest campaign.

However, her team was quick to clarify matters. The team said that her skin tone was not deliberately lightened and that her skin tone was retained just the way it is.

Other sources close to Pinto have brushed aside the issue claiming it to be an 'error in Photoshop' while brightening the picture.

The company's spokesperson said, "It is categorically untrue that they had altered Pinto's features or skin tone in the campaign." He clarified saying that the photographer had used a ring flash for Frieda which has given the reflection of light on her face.

The UK tabloid, referring to the controversy had said, “Digital editing is extremely common in print publishing and advertising where wrinkles, extra pounds and inches are airbrushed off models and celebs to give them a flawless appearance."
