Beltangady: Senior litterateur, retired lecturer Prof N Ujire passes away

Beltangady, Mar 11: Prof Nagaraja Poovani, fondly known as Prof Na Ujire, breathed his last on Monday morning at his residence following a brief illness. The 87-year-old, retired from his esteemed position as a Hindi professor at SDM College of Ujire, leaves behind a legacy as a senior litterateur and journalist.

Having dedicated numerous years to academia at SDM College, Prof Nagaraja Poovani earned widespread respect and admiration. He had been enjoying his retired life until his recent illness.

Survived by his wife, Saraswati N Raj, and son Parshwanath, who currently works as an engineer in the USA, Prof Nagaraja Poovani's passing is mourned by a multitude of well-wishers and relatives.

The final rites for Prof Nagaraja Poovani will be conducted once his son arrives from the USA to their native place.
