Mangaluru, Mar 11: The crescent moon marking the onset of the holy month of Ramadan was sighted in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Bhatkal.

This observation, shared by Qazis from Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, and Bhatkal on Monday evening, signifies the commencement of Ramadan from Tuesday, March 12.

Muslims in the region will embark on a month-long fasting journey starting Tuesday to observe the sacred month of Ramadan.
