Lucknow, Sep 29: The ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) was outsmarted when its sitting MLA Jitendra Singh Bablu joined Peace Party on Thursday. Bablu was in news recently after his name figured in the case of torching of State Congress Chief Dr Rita Bahuguna Joshi's residence in Lucknow. Peace Party also declared him candidate from Bikapur in Faizabad district. IN the past two other BSP legislators FM Kidwai and Sherbahadur have also deserted the party.
Licking its wound, BSP issued a press release suspending Bablu from anti party activities. State President of BSP and cabinet minister Swami Prasad Maurya stated in the release that party will approach Speaker to disqualify Bablu from membership of the house.
Earlier BSP had rewarded Bablu after he was chargesheeted in torching Dr Rita Bahuguna Joshi's residence. He was given Y category security. However, soon he was disenchanted with BSP and was even denied ticket. "He had claimed that he was framed in criminal cases and we decided to give him a chance. But old habits die hard and he was still engaged in shady activities so we denied him ticket," said BSP state chief Maurya.
