Washington, Oct 5: US Senator Elizabeth Warren has blamed President Donald Trump for what she described as growing pressure on household budgets, as American consumers face higher prices and borrowing costs amid the economic impact of the ongoing war with Iran.
Referring to a recent Bloomberg report, Warren said on X that high prices and rising borrowing costs were putting pressure on family finances and forcing more Americans to cut spending on activities such as bowling and dining out.
"This is Donald Trump's economy," Warren said.

The comments come as the US approaches the midterm elections, with consumer spending and the cost of living emerging as key economic concerns.
Petrol prices reached a national average of $4.27 a gallon in September, according to the American Automobile Association, marking an increase of nearly 30 per cent from a year earlier.
Trump's approval rating has also fallen into the low 30s, according to the report cited by Warren.
The economic pressure comes amid the prolonged conflict involving the United States and Iran, which has contributed to higher energy prices and raised concerns over its wider impact on American households and the economy.
