Mumbai, Sep 30: John Abraham has always been on a look out for roles where he could flaunt his body and at the same time give justice to the character.
In Nishikant Kamat-directed action flick ‘Force’ which releases on Friday September 30, John is seen with a neatly chiseled look, where one could not help but be reminded of Sylvester Stallone’s body.
To gel well into the character of a narcotics cop, John pushed his body to its limits by working rigorously for over eight months and also gained a lot of weight for the role.
In the movie, it is learnt that John himself performed all the stunts without the use of cables. He said, “I wanted to do real, raw action, something that Sylvester Stallone did in 'Rocky'. So I wanted to do that level of action and I wanted to look like him. That's what I concentrated on,” John added.
John adds that while preparing his body for the role, Nishikanth had briefed him about it saying that he would want a body similar to that of Stallone’s, a body that looks like a machine.
With his being so selective about choosing his roles, it was feared that he might soon lose his charm among the audience. But John says he is very confident about his picks. Speaking to media persons he said, ““I'm a very secure person. I've always been told by people, 'You are a commercial hero, just go out there and your film will be a hit.' But I have always done one film a year because I feel that you need to put effort in your character in every film.”
