Kundapur, Mar 21: "Former chief minister S Bangarappa earned renown through his pro-people initiatives. He never exploited politics for personal gain but instead bestowed gifts upon the people of Karnataka. He provided free agricultural pump sets to farmers. If the people bless me, I will follow in my father's footsteps," stated Geetha Shivarajkumar, the Congress Lok Sabha candidate for the Shivamogga constituency.
Geetha made these remarks at a press conference held at the residence of former MLA B M Sukumar Shetty in Nempu on Thursday.
She continued, "The Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency is not unfamiliar to me. I have previously contested from the same constituency. Although I may not hold political power, the community service I have undertaken will garner voter support and lead to victory. I will uphold their trust in me."
Actor Shivarajkumar, known as Hatrick Hero, asserted, "I will dedicate 80% of my efforts to this year's election campaign. If the voters elect Geetha, the legacy of Bangarappa's transparency will shine once more. Minister Madhu Bangarappa is also a commendable pro-people politician. I believe this election will play a pivotal role in bringing forth strong leaders for Karnataka in the future."
Minister Madhu Bangarappa added, "The Congress party has never engaged in politics based on caste or religion. The Congress government has delivered on its promises made before state assembly elections. People remember the restoration of temples through the Aradhana scheme during Bangarappa's tenure as CM. BJP has merely plastered images of Lord Ram on streets, but these pictures have been torn by the wind. Congress would never disrespect Lord Rama in such a manner."
Former MLA B M Sukumar Shetty delivered the introductory speech, while Vandse block Congress president Pradeep Kumar Shetty extended a warm welcome. Former MLA K Gopal Poojary, Beloor MLA Gopalkrishna, district Congress president Ashok Kodavoor, KPCC chief secretary G A Bawa, KPCC member Prakash Shetty, KPCC spokesperson Anil, and Sanjeeva Shetty Sampigedi were also in attendance.
