Udupi, Mar 22: Congress party ticket aspirant for Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha seat and president of Chikkamagaluru district Congress said he will abide by the decision of the party high command to field Jayapraksh Hegde as the official candidate for the Lok Sabha elections.
The announcement came after the the party announced the name of former MP K Jayaprakash Hegde in the final list of candidates.
"I respect the decision of the party high command. I am always indebted to the love and trust shown by all of the party workers while travelling across Udupi and Chikkamagaluru district seeking candidacy and meeting party leaders and workers. The moments when some seniors of the party treated me warmly made me brave and steady in the political arena. I will work harder for them," he said.
"May the encouragement and guidance of the senior and younger friends of the party be like this. I offer my gratitude hoping for the priceless love, trust, advice, cooperation, guidance and blessings of the party leaders and workers. Let all the party leaders, workers, elected representatives, booth committee presidents all work together and make an honest effort to make the candidate of our Congress party Jayaprakash Hegde win with a huge majority” said Dr Amshumanth Gowda, in a official call to the party workers.
