Byndoor, Mar 25: Youth leader and grandson of former deputy chief minister K S Eshwarappa said that his grandfather Eshwarappa will surely contest as an independent candidate from Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency.

Prithviraj spoke to media persons on Monday, March 25, in the morning during his visit to Byndoor on account of campaigning for the Lok Sabha election.

Prithviraj further said, “The incumbent MP Raghavendra did not bring any grants from union government to Byndoor. There is an accusation that Raghavendra does not meet party workers as he is in touch with only four to five of his close aides. The party workers are with Eshwarappa. Everyone knows that Raghavendra does not take any interest in developing Byndoor. So Eshwarappa's victory in the upcoming elections is sure."

“We are not against Modi. We will canvass for Modi in our campaign. The electorate Shivamogga and Byndoor will vote for Eshwarappa as they want him to be with Modi. We know that in this constituency politics will not take place on the basis of caste. We also know that people support Hindutva and the person who is contesting. So we will visit each and every house and win the election." he said.

“We are getting information that Raghavendra is threatening Eshwarappa's supporters and filing cases against them. This will not work. We will be with our party workers all the time,” he said.

Sachin and Santhosh, supporters of Eshwarappa were present in the press conference.
