Ramanagara (Kanakapura), Mar 27: Bengaluru Rural Congress MP D K Suresh, younger brother of KPCC chief and deputy chief minister D K Shivakumar, will be filing his nomination papers at Ramanagara on Thursday at 11 am.

Speaking to media persons at Ramanagara on Wednesday, he said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Shivakumar, Ramanagara district in-charge minister B Ramalinga Reddy and Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara will be accompanying him.

He said he has requested the public to assemble at the Deputy Commissioner’s office while filing the nomination papers to extend support and bless him. “I have been regularly in touch with people and serving them in their times of need. I now need their support and blessings,’’ he said.

Suresh said he is receiving good response from the public in all the eight assembly segments of the Bengaluru Rural Lok Sabha constituency.

Answering questions on the reported moves of BJP leader C P Yogeshwar’s daughter Nisha Yogeshwar joining the Congress party, he said: “I know discussions are going on. The party leaders are taking a decision soon. She has been expressing her desire to join Congress since the last several days. The party leaders will consult the leaders from the district and take a decision.’’

He, however, declined to answer questions on the trouble in Kolar against giving Congress ticket to Food and Civil Supplies Minister K H Muniyappa’s daughter and said he was unaware of the situation.
