Udupi, Apr 10: Addressing leaders from diverse community backgrounds, Jayaprakash Hegde emphasized the importance of directing election campaigns towards the future and vision rather than dwelling on past grievances. Hegde urged fellow politicians to shift the focus towards discussions on development and progress, asserting that electoral discourse should center on issues such as patriotism versus terrorism rather than personal animosities.

He underscored the significance of voters evaluating candidates based on their developmental track record rather than considerations like religion or caste. Reflecting on his ministerial tenure, Hegde recounted instances where he and his team worked closely with communities to directly address their needs, echoing the ethos of grassroots governance.

Taking inspiration from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's drafting of the Constitution, Hegde lamented alleged attempts to tamper with its principles, emphasizing the imperative of upholding its integrity. He also highlighted constituent feedback on the benefits of government schemes like the 5 Guarantees, stressing the importance of accountability and efficient governance.

M A Gaffur, KPCC secretary, commended Jayaprakash Hegde's commitment to engaging with constituents, understanding their concerns, and collaborating with various organizations. Gaffur attributed significant developmental strides in the coastal region during Hegde's previous tenure as a minister, citing improvements in residents' quality of life as a testament to his leadership.

The event was attended by leaders from various organizations and Congress representatives.
