Udupi: Senior farmer Denis D'Souza passes away

Udupi, Apr 12: Senior farmer Denis D'Souza (87), a revered resident of Kemthur, passed away early Friday on April 12 following a brief illness.

Known for his generosity and community spirit, D'Souza's contributions were instrumental in the development of his locality. He generously donated land for the construction of the suspension bridge connecting Kemthur-Manipur, a project that significantly benefited the local community. Additionally, he played a pivotal role by donating land for the construction of a well, ensuring a reliable source of drinking water for the residents of Alevoor Gram Panchayat.

Survived by his two sons and two daughters, Denis D'Souza leaves behind a legacy of kindness and service to his community.

According to family sources, the funeral rites for the departed will take place at St. Francis Xavier Church in Udyavara on Saturday at 4:30 pm.
