Bengaluru, Apr 14: Prominent Kannada cinema producer Soundarya Jagadish, renowned for his contributions to films like ‘Appu Pappu’ and ‘Snehitaru’, passed away in the early hours of Sunday, April 14. Initial reports indicated the possibility of suicide.
The tragic incident occurred at his residence in Mahalakshmi Layout, Bangaluru, sending shockwaves throughout the film industry and leaving his fans stunned.
Contrary to the suicide speculation, family members refuted these claims, stating that Soundarya Jagadish succumbed to a heart attack. His last public appearance was at Priyanka Upendra's Holi celebrations, where he was seen alongside his family, including his newly wedded daughter Soundarya.
Apart from his successful career as a film producer, Soundarya Jagadish also managed Bangalore's popular Jetlag Pub and had ventures in real estate and business. He shared close ties with industry stalwarts like Rockline Venkatesh and ‘Challenging Star’ Darshan.
Reports suggest that Soundarya Jagadish had been facing financial challenges recently, with rumours circulating about his home being seized by the bank. The exact reasons behind his tragic decision to end his life remain unknown.
Soundarya Jagadish was actively involved in film distribution and had introduced his son Nekish to the Sandalwood industry. His presence was noted at recent industry events.
Deputy commissioner of police, Bengaluru, North Division, Saidulu Adavath, stated that they received news of Soundarya Jagadish's death at 9:45 am. “His wife lodged a complaint, contesting the notion of a heart attack and alleging suicide. Initial inquiries indicate that Jagadish had been experiencing mental distress, especially following his mother-in-law's demise. Further details are awaited pending the post-mortem report,” he said.
