A Design Tribute to Steve Jobs at WIFW

New Delhi, Oct 9 (IANS): Designer duo Smita Singh Rathore and Himanshu Sahni of label cellDSG have made exclusive accessories to pay tribute to Apple's co-founder Steve Jobs at the ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW).

"As a designer and creator, you feel connected to someone who is also a designer and visionary. It's not that we knew him personally, we knew him through what he has given to the world. We are avid Mac users for 10-15 years now …..right from the first Mac to the latest Apple iPhone, our complete design work is done through Mac," Smita told IANS.

"So we have designed Mac covers which are really close to our heart. We associate emotionally with the brand which is why we have made accessories for the Mac book and iPad," she added.

Jobs, 56, who had been battling cancer for years and died Oct 5 after prolonged illness in the US.

The designer couple, who are exhibiting their lines at WIFW feel that the world will miss his presence.

"Whatever he did, in spite of so many personal happenings, was not only heartwarming but also an inspiration for the generations to come," she added.

The limited-edition Mac covers, available in red tones have been priced between Rs.8,000 -Rs.9,500 but the duo are hopeful to bring an extension of the line very soon.

"It is very ironic that when we launched the line, Jobs is not with us, so we are looking forward to bring an extension to this line," she added.
