Kasaragod, Apr 22: A tragic incident unfolded on Monday in Kasaragod as a woman lost her life after being struck by a Vande Bharat Express.

This dreadful event occurred near Nileshwaram Church at 2 pm. The victim, believed to be around 22 years old, was hit by a Vande Bharat Express travelling from Mangaluru to Thiruvananthapuram. However, the identity of the victim remains unknown at this time.

This unfortunate incident follows closely after another tragic event earlier this month, in which a young man and a woman, both migrant workers from West Bengal, lost their lives after being struck by a Vande Bharat Express.

The victims, identified as Pradeep Sarkar and Binotti Roy, met their demise on the Vande Bharat Express running between Kasargod and Thiruvananthapuram.

In light of these incidents, authorities are taking measures to enhance security by installing CCTV cameras at key locations, especially after reports of stone pelting incidents targeting Vande Bharat Express trains have surged.

I wonder why people cross the railway tracks posing danger to their own lives. There are much more open lines in Europe and in Far east, which runs thru the fields of agriculture, but not a single animal gets killed, since the farmers and the locals make sure to secure the area within their own interest. If we cultivate this kind of thoughts by using our own intelligence, i am sure there shall be no accidents taking place. May the departed soul rest in peace
